About Us

Southside Mulching is a family-owned business born out of necessity.  It had been a dream of ours to one day own land for our kids to be able to grow up and live on with access to the great outdoors.  When we were finally able to procure an old farm with acreage, the work began.  We needed to fence areas of land and clear other areas of land for pasture and buildings.  

It was eye-opening how quickly the vegetation takes control!  We would be working on one project on the farm while the vegetation was creeping in on another area of the farm.  While we were not opposed to hard work, we were opposed to wasting time on methods that were not effective or economical.  It was simply a losing battle taking on briars, poison ivy, poison oak, sweet gums and a multitude of other fast growing brush and trees by hand.  We wanted to be productive in our projects, but it was also important to be good stewards of the land we were blessed with.  So we did our research.  What we found was that the best solution to our land management problem was mulching.  While some other methods of land clearing get the job done, they destroy the topsoil of the much needed nutrients that we still desired.  

Once it was decided to mulch the brush and trees we looked for a company to employ but found none in our area.  It became clear that we were going to have to do it ourselves.  Well, if you have ever seen mulching equipment in action it is AWESOME!
